“ This has become my family's new favorite place for food. We went for Chinese New Year and had Yee Sang and a bunch of food. Everything is very good here. What I like best is that its tucked away in an area without a lot of traffic so its never too crowded and you can always find parking. Lots of big tables so they're good for big groups. I believe they allow BYOB as everyone has a bottle at their table. ”
“ If you are craving for big fat crab, apart from the well-known fatty crab, this is another go-to place to fix that craving. I know this is true, because this is exactly what I did, ;) Crabs aren't to be exact cheap here, but definitely fairly priced - and those are quite jumbo crabs too. You know the frustration when you have to dig into a crab, use so much energy, and there isn't really any big fat meat for you to eat. Well, you don't have to worry about that frustration here. We ordered one big crab to share among two, and it costed around RM70, which again, isn't cheap, but it's okay. While at Lala Chong, of course we ordered lala as well - cooked in rice wine, so good! Lala here isn't too big, but it's fresh and fleshy still. I couldn't remember exactly the price, but it was a fair price too. We also ordered their salt baked fish, which they will use salt to cover up the whole fish, and baked it to smooth perfection - remember not to be tempted to eat the skin if you ordered this dish, my friend did, and it's basically eating a thick layer of salt. You are only supposed to eat the flesh in there. They have a satay stall here as well, which their satay is really fragrant, but not cheap. We only ordered 15 sticks, and it costed RM21, which is actually quite pricey. Parking here is okay, but it could get hard when it's at peak hours. So, come early to avoid having to park in difficult spots. ”
“ I quite like the food here actually. Just finished a seafood rampage here and I was not left wanting. Had the buttermilk crab, the salted egg squid, some veggie dish named the 4 kingdoms, steamed fish and marmite prawns. I ate them all til I was stuffed!! I must also add that I like their selection of munchies (offered prior to even ordering food). They offer not just peanuts like most places, but also pickled mango. So good! Food aside, this is a nice place for families to get together and just kick back and relax over food. It's fun fore kids too as they have aquariums which display the fish and crab (yet to be eaten). Sometimes it gets too hot outside though, so might be a good idea to reserve a spot in the air conditioned area. ”
“ This place previously (Long long time ago) was opened opposite Subang airport. Then, they moved to Ara Damansara side...Later on, they moved another branch at Kayu Ara area. Nevertheless, the food quality is similar. What are they famous for? As the name shows 'Lala Chong', they are famous for the siong thong lala *Superior soup lala*. It contains some chinese liqour (Fa Tiew alcohol), ginger, chili and some red dates. It's one of the famous dishes in Lala Chong. The grilled lamb is really good too. Charred nicely and not too fat in terms of the animal fats. Stir fried paku pakis with belacan is good too! I know some people don't take paku pakis cause at times, the vege has some...starchy thingy and makes it difficult to be eaten. Another option is kangkung belacan. The thick tofu soup (Tofu Kang) is good too. It's the alternative of sharks fin soup but replaced with tofu and vege *celery, mushroom*. Tastes good with some vinegar in it. They also offer the salt baked fish, which is similar to the roasted/grilled salt fish in Thailand. It's basic, clear and not much msg. There are some ingredients stuffed inside the fish to remove the fishy smell and gives it a more fragrant smell (Onion, chilli, ginger, garlic). Overall experience : 4/5 Price Rating : 4/5 (When there's a bigger group, it's even cheaper!) ”
